What are "daily targets"?

Your daily targets are your personalised calorie and macronutrient goals (protein, carbs and fats), calculated using your data, goals and current lifestyle. They’re built to support your goal, whether that be  sustainable fat loss, muscle gain or maintenance, without cutting foods you enjoy.

How do you know what my body needs?

We use your onboarding data (including height, weight, age, activity levels, training and goals) alongside our evidence-based strategy to calculate targets specific to you. Your targets are continuously updated using real progress data from your weekly check ins.

Do I need to have a scan done before?

No scans or tests required. Everything we need can be captured through the app. If you choose to get scans or measurements independently, they can be useful reference points, but they’re completely optional.

Will my targets change or do they always stay the same?

Your targets are dynamic. We review your check-in data and progress regularly and adjust when needed to keep you moving forward. Some weeks may require changes, others won’t.

When are check-ins?

Check-ins happen weekly inside the app. You’ll be prompted to complete yours on the same day each week so progress can be assessed consistently.

What are check-ins?

Check-ins collect key information like tracking adherence, weight trends, training, cycle data, sleep, energy and lifestyle factors. This allows us to assess progress accurately and make informed adjustments. While optional, skipping check-ins limits how personalised your strategy can be.

Do you service international clients?

Yes, equ supports clients worldwide. Targets and meal plans are adapted to your location and food availability

Is exercise compulsory?

Exercise isn’t mandatory. Your targets are calculated based on your activity levels, whether that’s structured training, steps, or none at all. We focus on what’s realistic and sustainable for you.

Does equ cater to all ages?

Yes. equ works across all adult age groups. Age is factored into your calorie and macro calculations so your targets reflect your physiology, not generic numbers.

I work shift work, will equ still work for me?

Yes, equ is designed for real life, including shift work. There’s no prescribed meal timing. You simply work toward your targets across a 24-hour period in a way that suits your schedule.

I work FIFO, will equ still work for me?

Yes. FIFO clients use equ successfully. You’ll track intake in the app and work toward your targets using foods available on-site or while travelling.

I like to dine out, and I also like a drink or two, does that work with equ

Absolutely. equ is non-restrictive and built for social lives. You can include meals out and drinks while still progressing.

Your equ subscription includes access to our photo scanner feature which allows you to simply snap a photo of your meal and instantly log calories for simple tracking. You’ll also have access to our dine out feature which allows you to scan your menu and receive smart suggestions to help you stay on track while eating out

Do you have a sample meal plan?

We don’t provide sample plans because every equ meal plan is personalised. Meals are practical, familiar and aligned to everyday eating! For inspiration, our equ Instagram showcases meals our members actually eat. Check it out by visiting instagram.com/joinequ

Do you eat the same thing every day?

Not unless you want to! Variety is at the core of our equ meal plans. You can rotate between multiple meal plans each week, swap meals anytime, or mix and match based on your schedule and preferences.

How flexible are the meal plans?

Very. You’ll receive up to three personalised meal plans per week, plus unlimited meal swaps so you can adjust meals anytime. It’s structure with freedom, so you can eat foods you enjoy and stay consistent.

Are the meal plans family friendly?

Yes! Our meals are designed to be simple, balanced, and delicious, so they’re easy to enjoy with the whole family. You’ll also have access to our full recipe database, including a dedicated selection of family-friendly meals, making it easy to find inspiration and include options everyone will love in your weekly meal plans.

Do you offer meal plans for partners?

When you upgrade to 1:1 coaching, you can sync your meal plans with your partner so you can enjoy the same main meal. Please note this applies to the main meal plan only, not the unlimited meal plan swaps.

Do the meal plans require heaps of prep?

Not at all. You can choose from a wide range of recipes, including plenty of meal-prep-friendly options that are quick and easy to make. Every recipe also includes a general cook time, so it’s simple to pick meals that fit your schedule and preferences.

Do you cater to dietary requirements, allergens or fussy eaters?

Absolutely. During onboarding, you’ll select your dietary preferences and allergies across all categories, including proteins, breads & cereals, fruits & vegetables, dairy, sweets & snacks, condiments, beverages, and supplements. Your selections automatically tailor your meal plan, giving you a plan perfectly suited to your needs.

Are meal plan recipes budget-friendly?

We can’t give an exact weekly budget, since your total bill depends on factors like where you shop, seasonality, meal plan variety, and personal preferences. However, equ recipes use standard supermarket ingredients, so you won’t need to be making any expensive purchases at speciality shops!

You will also have access to our Ingredient Swap feature meaning you can swap out ingredients within a recipe to better suit what’s available to you (i.e. swap Salmon for Chicken), to make costs more affordable.

Do I receive a new meal plan every day?

You’ll receive up to three new meals plans, issued at the same time every week. The meal plans are tailored to your preferences entered during onboarding. You’ll also have access to unlimited meal plan swaps, and our recipe library of 9,000+ meals giving you more flexibility and variety if desired.

Do you cater for health and medical conditions?

equ supports body composition goals through balanced, non-restrictive nutrition. We don’t provide medical nutrition therapy. Dietary preferences are supported, but medical conditions should be managed with a healthcare professional.

Do you cater to pregnant women?

equ does not support pregnancy nutrition. We’d love to support you postpartum when it’s safe to do so.

Do you cater to breastfeeding?

Yes. Breastfeeding is factored into your daily targets to support your progress while maintaining healthy milk supply.

I've had gastric sleeve surgery, can equ still help me?

We can support clients who have undergone gastric sleeve surgery. However, due to the often-smaller and more restricted food intake and portion sizes post-surgery, accurately predicting the success of results is difficult and varies. This restrictive nature can impact how we structure your nutrition plan and your ability to achieve certain goals.

For optimal guidance and adjustments tailored to your specific needs, we recommend upgrading to our 1:1 coaching support. This will help you get the most out of your plan safely. the most out of your subscription.

Can I hold my service?

Absolutely. You can put your subscription on hold for up to 8 weeks directly through the app. 

During this time, you won’t have access to the app, including your meal plans and food diary, and payments will be paused to align with the hold period.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

At equ, we’ve got your back! If you’re a new client and feel the program isn’t the right fit for you, you can request a full refund within the first 7 days of your subscription purchase.

To be eligible, email [email protected] within 7 days of your purchase with your name and account number. Once your request is received, we’ll cancel your account and process your refund within 5–10 business days.

Please note this guarantee only applies to your first subscription or purchase. It does not apply to free trials, subsequent purchases, or reactivated accounts. We do not provide money back after these 7 days for lack of results, as we can’t be fully accountable for non-compliance during your journey and cannot be liable for results not meeting your expectations. How much will I lose every week?

While setting a weight goal is useful, keep in mind that the number on the scale may not always accurately reflect true fat loss. Various factors, such as hormones, water retention, and body composition—especially in females—can influence your scale weight. For a more accurate picture of your progress, we recommend focusing on measurements, progress photos, and how you feel.

Our clients typically lose between 250g and 2.5kg per week, though individual results can vary. We offer various strategies to suit your goals and preferences, from a gradual, sustainable approach to a more aggressive calorie deficit.

Is it guaranteed to work?

Our approach is based on evidence-backed nutrition strategies, and we’re confident that following the program as designed will help you achieve great results. That said, individual results depend on consistency and adherence, so we can’t guarantee outcomes if the plan isn’t followed.

Is exercise compulsory?

Not all of our clients exercise, and it isn’t compulsory or necessary for results. We calculate your intake goals according to your individual energy expenditure. So, do what you enjoy and is sustainable for you, let us know about your daily activities and your equ targets will reflect this.

If I'm older, will equ still work for me?

Yes! Everyone’ metabolic rates lower as we get older, which is why we incorporate age into our calculations for your calorie and macronutrient needs.

I work shift work, will equ still work for me?

Yes, absolutely! equ is lifestyle friendly for all work and life schedules. Meal timing isn’t relevant or regulated on our plans so we just advise you to consume your meals or meet your intake targets within a 24-hour block and the practice will be highly suitable and unhindered.

I work FIFO, will equ still work for me?

Yes, you can still use our services when you’re away. Simply track your intake foods in the app and meet the macro goals we’ve strategised for you. For the meal plan, we suggest creating an adaptable, universal option, ie. Breakfast: 2x slices of wholemeal bread, 2x eggs, etc. OR if you know the foods you have access to that week, we can tailor a plan for you. Each meal plan can be tailored to the requests you submit during your weekly check-in.

I like to dine out and I also like a drink or two, does that work with equ?

Absolutely, we practice an 80/20 approach to nutrition: 80% wholesome and nutritious food and 20% food you love, so you can incorporate treat foods (in moderation!) within your daily intake targets. Our team will coach you through using your food diary. Alternatively, you can take all the thinking out of it with our social meal plan. This is a one-day plan where we specify what to eat from meals 1-6 inclusive of your dine out/social meal.

Do you have a sample meal plan?

We don’t have a sample meal plan as each meal plan is customised for each individual, their intake needs and food preferences. However, you can expect balanced and diverse foods reflecting what people usually like to eat. Follow us on Instagram and search the equ hashtag to see what our clients enjoy!

Do you eat the same thing every day?

Not at all! There are always options to vary your food choice depending on whether you choose to self select your food choices for the day or follow your personal meal plan.

What if I want more than one meal plan?

We offer a weekly meal plan tailored to your preferences. You can add variety through different meal options each week and by using our meal swap feature to customise your plan to suit your taste and lifestyle.

Are the meal plans family friendly?

Yes, your whole family will love your equ meals, they’re delicious!

Do you offer meal plans for partners?

We sure do. We can sync up your meal plans so you can enjoy the same meals proportionate to your individual requirements and food preferences.

Do the meal plans require heaps of prep?

Absolutely not. Our meal plans are very prep friendly, and if there are any specific prep requests you have—whether that be limited cooking facilities, time, etc.—just specify this during your check-in!

I am so fussy do you cater to this?

Of course. Your meal plan is specifically customised to your likes and dislikes.

Are meal plan recipes budget-friendly?

A number of variables may affect the budget of your custom meal plan, however, everything can be purchased from your local grocer (no specialty stores), so will be similar to your regular grocery shop.

Can I opt out of the meal plan?

All of our plans include weekly meal plans, which you can use for inspiration or guidance. You don’t have to follow them exactly and can adapt the meals to suit your preferences while still hitting your daily targets and tracking your progress.

Do you cater toward health and medical conditions?

As a company, we facilitate body transformations (weight loss, weight management and muscle gain) and do not facilitate a service to accomodate for health conditions. Only those of that are dietary requirements instead i.e. dairy free, gluten free, vegan etc. Our meal plans are constructed according to the Australian Dietary Guidelines and take a balanced and non-restrictive approach.

If you do have health concerns that need to be dietary managed, we advise you to track your own nutritional consumption with our guidance towards your goals, taking inspiration from the meal plans provided.

Do you cater to pregnant women?

We do not service pregnancy nutrition, though we’d love to hear from you after you’ve had your baby for your postpartum journey!

Do you cater to breastfeeding?

We sure do Mummas, so you can jump on board immediately postpartum as we take this into account in calculating your needs in order to not hinder milk supply.

I've had gastric sleeve surgery, can equ still help me?

We have worked with gastric sleeve clients with mixed results. We understand people who have had gastric sleeve surgery already have different individual restrictions on food quantity and portions; this can affect our ability to create an optimal strategy while meeting your appropriate calorie and macronutrient goals. We love working closely with each person to achieve results, however, through our past experiences with gastric sleeve clients, we are unable to accurately predict how successful the results will be for you.

I'd like to do a trial, do you do this?

We currently offer a seven day free trial via our app store for all iOs users. To try a free trial download our app from the Apple app store and follow the prompts. If signing up via the website we do not currently offer a free trial but we do have a 7 day money back guarantee. 

What are the payment options?

We bill directly to your credit card through a secure Stripe transaction. We also accept Afterpay and Apple pay.

Can I hold my service?

You certainly can! At your request with no less than 7 days’ written notice via your support chat, we may put your Subscription on hold for a maximum of a single continuous 4-week period in any 12-month period where we provide the Program to you (Hold). During the Hold, we will not provide the Program to you, and you will not be required to pay us the Subscription Fee. A hold will only be granted after the minimum commitment term has been met.

Is there a money back guarantee?

We stand behind the science of the equ strategy and are highly confident you can achieve your goals with fill adherence. However, we can’t be fully accountable for non-compliance during your journey and cannot be liable for results not meeting your expectations.
